Instructions

1. Adhere 4-1/4" x 4-1/4" Very Vanilla textured card stock to journal.
2. Adhere 3-3/4" x 3-3/4" So Saffron textured card stock to Very Vanilla square.
3. Adhere  2" x 2-7/8" piece of Certainly Celery Prints Designer Series paper to So Saffron square.
4. Stamp alphabet in VersaMark ink on Ruby Red textured card stock. Trim to 1-7/8" x 2-1/16" and adhere to So Saffron square.
5. Punch arrow from More Mustard textured card stock using My Way punch. Adhere to So Saffron square.
6. Apply arrow Rub-On to So Saffron textured card stock using wooden stick included with Rub-On assortment. Stamp "2008" in VersaMark ink in stem of arrow. Cover image in Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, and heat emboss. Punch arrow out using My Way punch. Adhere to So Saffron square using Stampin' Dimensionals.
7. Cut out 2-1/8" x 2-1/4" square from Old Olive textured card stock. Stamp flower image in VersaMark ink on So Saffron textured card stock. Cover image in Clear Stampin' Emboss powder, and heat emboss. Punch out center of flower using 1/4" Circle punch. Cut out flower, and adhere to Old Olive square. Attach rhinestone brad from Pretties Kit to Old Olive square in center of flower. Adhere square to journal cover using Stampin' Dimensionals.
8. Cover chipboard frame with Soft Sky textured card stock. Sand edges using sanding blocks. Adhere to Old Olive square.
9. Punch flower from Old Olive textured card stock using Boho Blossoms punch; punch center out from flower using 1/4" Circle punch. Adhere to alphabet square around the "S."
10. Stamp "Spring" in Old Olive ink on Certainly Celery square. Cover On Board letter "S" with More Mustard textured card stock; sand edges using sanding blocks. Adhere "S" to Certainly Celery square over "S" in "Spring."
11. Pierce holes around journal cover edges using piercing tool from the Crafters' Tool Kit.
12. Punch round tabs from Soft Sky, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, and Old Olive textured card stocks using Round Tab punch. Fold tabs in half. Stamp flower in VersaMark ink on each tab. Adhere tabs to journal pages.

12 Weeks of Christmas -- Week 1

Here is a tutorial on how to make a Holiday Organizer.  This was a free project idea that I sent out to those people on my mailing list. Be very organized this year with this great Holiday Organizer.  Enjoy this free project idea, and please click below if you would like to purchase the materials to create it!

Supply List:

Two sheets of 12 x 12 patterned paper

Three sheets of 12 x 12 cardstock

18" ribbon

Marker

Self Adhesive Diecuts

Two sheets 8.5 x 11 White cardstock

Large Open End Envelope

White Pocket Folder

Stapler

Adhesive

Bone Folder

How to create this project:
1. Select several pieces of cardstock   Designer Series Paper and cut them into 4-1/2" x 12" strips.  You'll need a total of 6 strips and you can mix  match the paper however you'd like.
2. Take 5 of those strips and cut them into two pieces - 4-1/2" x 4-1/2" and 4-1/2" x 7-1/2".
3. Using your bone folder, create an accordion fold in your pocket folder.
4.  Attach your cardstock  designer paper strips to the cover of your folder.  Use the 6th strip for the back of your folder.
5. Staple the Real Red Grosgrain ribbon to the front of the folder.  (You only need one staple.)
6. Attach the remainder of the cardstock  designer paper to the inside of the folder.
7. Cut your 2 pieces of Whisper White cardstock in half so you have 4 pieces of 4-1/4" x 11".  Staple two together.
8. Embellish white cardstock using the following titles (or be creative come up with your own titles!): "family traditions" (from the diecuts), "gift list" (this is for the two pieces stapled together), and "to do".  Write "Receipts" on the envelope.
9. Embellish the remainder of the folder as you'd like with your self-adhesive diecuts.  Tuck your lists  envelope inside the pockets on the inside of your folder.  Tie closed with the ribbon.

Another Weekend Away!

Well, we just came back from another Girl's Getaway Weekend!!  This was a smaller group- we try to do 2 small groups and 2 large groups every year- and I actually got some scrapbooking done!

I decided to work on my daughter, Chelsea's, 14th Birthday Bash.  Her best friend is one of my best friends (and stampin' partners!) daughter!  And their birthdays are only a week apart, so we threw them a party together!  Here is the first page of this event- I will put all the pages in an album here.

 

Of course, the only complaint I have after a Scrapbook weekend is that I just want to come back home and SCRAP!!!

What fun we had in Houston!!

I just got back from our Annual Leadership Conference!! This year we were in Houston, Texas - and Stampin' Up! treated us to a real western party one of the nites- a special reception for Managers and above.  Despite the fabulous food, the mechanical bull, the oil rigs, 'bronzed' cowboys and best cornbread ever.... we still have a one track mind.... SWAPS!!

I will post some more photos of our Houston excursion... we learned so much out there and I have so many things to share, as usual!  If you haven't seen my latest class and event list, please give me a call or send me an email so I can get it to you!!

Nearly 2007!

Where has the time gone?

It's hard to believe that a new year is just around the corner....  2007....  seems unreal.  But, it is what it is and we will make it a good one!

I have to admit the change to a new year is like a 'clean slate' for me- all those things that I want to do differently take on a new meaning and I do start off the year with a lot of enthusiasm.  I don't want to call them resolution's as much as they are goals.  One of them is to get all those videos turned into DVD's.  We watched one last nite and laughed so hard we cried!  Proof positive we are certainly an unusual family...............

And there is the scrapbook goal too.  I want to get the pages I have all organized and in some type of order.  Every year I give my family a scrapbook for Christmas.  This year I made them all a Bitty Book -a mini scrapbook with highlites of 2006.  Scott told me it was his favorite gift this year (he probably wanted to borrow the car).  Dane called from Korea early Christmas morn and told me how much he loved it too (he probably wanted money) Regardless, it made me happy to be able to share our life with them- especially since they are all so far from home....

A favorite January event of mine is our Year In A Day scrapping class!  Anyone who is interested can make a great 20 page 12x12 album....  fill it with last years photos or put them in as the year goes on!  Either way, it is a gorgeous album and will be another wonderful class!  All are welcome to attend- if you are interested shoot me an email for the details!

Whatever goals (or resolutions) you come up with for yourself be sure to do them will all your heart and have some fun!!

A special birthday!

Here is a photo of one of my friends, Mary,  who just celebrated a milestone birthday....  and her sweet daughter and son threw her a surprise party!  Now, that is nice and all- but here is my favorite part....  the party hosts asked every guest to bring a completed scrapbook page instead of a gift- these guests are friends and family with many special memories to share!

So they each made a page- many even journaled them- some just brought their favorite photos of Mary and themselves.....  Mary told me that it was the best birthday gift she has ever gotten!  When she got home that nite she sat down and looked at her new album and read all the thoughts  and feelings her guests shared............  she said she cried all nite long at what a wonderful and loving memory this special gift has given her!

I had a fun weekend scrapping here with my friends- we got a lot done (well, they got a lot done!)  I have to admit I spent a lot of time designing the rest of my gift projects.... but they are all now done!  Here they are in their entirety!

I made these to hang in my office....  One of them is of life at the Lake House (the House that Stamps Built I should call it!) 

And the other is my Gratitude page- I am thinking that when I have 'those days' I can look at these and be reminded of what a wonderful life I really have and how blessed I have been!

I have to admit I am out of control!!

As we get closer to the holidays my brain goes into overdrive with projects that I want to do... from decorating the house to making handmade gifts.  I don't think any gift is better than one made with love and when we add photos to that, it makes it all the better!

So I searched for some great ideas and I think I found a bunch! 

I am so in love with that darling Bitty Book I made that I am making one for each of my kids- just a small scrapbook of our family- and the best part is I can finish it in just a couple of hours!  I decided to make one for my MIL too- could there be a better gift than pictures of her kids and grandkids?

I am off to Rhode Island today to learn even more fabulous stamping ideas- if my head doesn't explode I will fill you in on even more great ideas when I return!
